Suchart Group Stands Firm Amidst Political Turmoil, Awaits Party’s Decision

Bangkok: The "Suchart" group, led by Mr. Suchart Chomklin, Deputy Minister of Commerce and Deputy Leader of the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party, has made headlines by sharing pictures from a recent dinner meeting. The group has expressed their intent to remain in their current political positions unless the Phalang Pracharath Party decides to expel them. According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chomklin hosted the dinner, inviting 18 members of parliament (MPs), of which 15 attended. The three absent MPs-Ms. Pimpattra Wichakul of Nakhon Si Thammarat, Mr. Sattra Sripan of Songkhla, and Ms. Kunlawalee Nopamrodi of Ratchaburi-cited prior engagements for their absence. The dinner was marked by a lively and cheerful atmosphere as attendees engaged in discussions about the future of their political endeavors. The group is currently at a political crossroads following their submission of a letter to Prime Minister Ms. Paethongtarn Shinawatra, urging for a cabinet reshuffle that would expel Mr. Pirapan Salirathavibhaga, Deput y Prime Minister and Minister of Energy, from his leadership position in the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party. However, the Prime Minister has chosen not to intervene, leaving it to the party to resolve the issue internally. Mr. Chomklin and his allies have indicated that they are prepared to remain with the party unless they are formally expelled, which would then allow them to join a new political entity. In response to the ongoing situation, Mr. Ekkanat Promphan, Minister of Industry and Secretary-General of the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party, asserted that no MPs have been expelled from the party. He emphasized the importance of political decorum and suggested that MPs should serve their full terms despite any internal conflicts.
