Summer Storms to Persist in Northeastern and Eastern Thailand Until April 20

Bangkok: Summer storms are expected to continue affecting the northeastern and eastern regions of Thailand until April 20, 2026. This was announced by the Meteorological Department in their recent bulletin, Issue No. 10 (29/2569), concerning the weather conditions in upper Thailand.

According to Thai News Agency, northern Thailand will experience summer storms characterized by thunderstorms, gusty winds, hail, and heavy rain. Some areas may also witness lightning strikes. These conditions are attributed to the southerly and southeasterly winds carrying moisture from the Gulf of Thailand and the South China Sea, impacting the Northeast, East, and the upper Gulf of Thailand. Meanwhile, other regions in Thailand are expected to face hot to very hot weather.

The public in upper Thailand is urged to exercise caution and remain vigilant about the dangers posed by summer storms. It is advised to avoid open spaces, large trees, and unstable structures. Farmers are encouraged to reinforce fruit trees and take necessary steps to protect their crops and livestock from potential damage. Additionally, people are advised to take care of their health during this period of fluctuating weather conditions.
