Bangkok: "Supachai" urges "Prasert" to clarify the truth regarding the collection of iris data from Thai people. Before it's too late! Supachai urges Prasert to clarify the truth regarding the MOU with the Singaporean company, which allegedly facilitated the collection of iris data from 1.2 million Thais and is linked to a shady network.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Supachai Jaisamut, a Bhumjaithai Party list candidate, called on Mr. Prasert Chantharawongthong, former Minister of Digital Economy and Society, to clarify the case of approving a Singaporean company that had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DE), and which is linked to Mr. Ben Smith. Subsequently, the company was granted access to the biometric data of over 1.2 million Thai citizens. Mr. Jaisamut expressed concern that this could have a negative impact on the country, and that Mr. Prasert's failure to take any action to prevent such damage may constitute dereliction of duty, a crime under the Criminal Code and the Anti-Corruption Act.
"Until today, Mr. Prasert has remained completely silent. He hasn't revealed himself, neither his face nor his eyes, to the public to show what the truth is about this matter. I want him to come out and tell the public, his fans, what the facts are. Don't disappear like this, because the public has been demanding that I tell you," Mr. Supachai said.
Mr. Supachai further stated that today, the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) has searched 4-5 companies related to the iris data case. Following this, the investigation will be expanded. The truth will gradually emerge, so those involved should come forward before it's too late.
