Surathin Rushes to Bhumjaithai Party to Congratulate Anutin on Prime Ministership

Bangkok: Surathin Phicharn, leader of the New Democracy Party (NDP), made a prompt visit to the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters to personally congratulate Anutin Charnvirakul on his ascension to the position of the 33rd Prime Minister. Surathin emphasized his unwavering support for Anutin, highlighting that the New Democracy Party secured one vote and is committed to backing Anutin fully.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Surathin arrived at the Bhumjaithai Party headquarters at 1:00 PM on February 9, 2026. During the meeting, he expressed his admiration for Mr. Anutin, acknowledging Bhumjaithai's success in winning the most electoral seats. Despite the New Democracy Party not having formally recognized the election results, Surathin noted their single-seat victory and reiterated his gratitude for the support received from Bhumjaithai in the past.

Surathin articulated his hopes for Anutin's leadership, expressing a desire for him to continue as Prime Minister indefinitely, addressing critical national issues such as the economy, societal well-being, and border security. He specifically mentioned the need to focus on northern border areas, including those inhabited by the Wa Red Army, aiming for stability and prosperity for the Thai population.

Surathin concluded his visit by reiterating the NDP's full support for Anutin, with the intention of facilitating the swift formation of the government to foster national happiness and economic growth.
