Tachilek Shifts Entire Electricity Supply to Laos After Thai Power Cut

Chiang Rai: Chiang Rai Governor visited the area to monitor the situation after the power supply to Tachilek Province, Myanmar was cut off. It was found that the Tachilek Electricity Authority has now changed the electricity system from Thailand to Laos by 50%, with the remaining 50% being fixed.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Charin Thongsuk, Governor of Chiang Rai Province, visited the area to monitor the situation after the power supply to Tachileik Province, Myanmar was cut off. He held a meeting with the security sector at the customs checkpoint and relevant officials. He revealed that the cut off of the two power distribution points covers the area of Tachileik Province, Myanmar. Currently, the Tachileik Electricity Authority has changed the electricity system from Thailand to Laos by about 50 percent. The remaining 50 percent is being fixed, which is to change the system to electricity from Laos entirely. It may take today or within 1-2 days to change the electricity system from Laos to cover the entire area.
