Bangkok: The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and MCOT have collaborated to offer a unique tourism experience in Chanthaburi through the "Green Breath of Chanthaburi" event.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Kanokkittika Kritwuttikorn, Regional Director of the Eastern Region, TAT, alongside Mr. Suwit Trapmahaudom, Assistant Managing Director of the Radio Broadcasting Division, MCOT Public Company Limited, and other partners, have introduced a model sustainable tourism route. The 'Green Breath of Chanthaburi' initiative invites tourists to participate in special trips that integrate conservation efforts, nature appreciation, and cultural experiences.
Ms. Kanokkittika explained that TAT is dedicated to promoting sustainable tourism practices. Chanthaburi has been selected for this initiative based on the 5 Green concept, which emphasizes eco-friendly travel, the use of seasonal local ingredients, activities aimed at reducing and eliminating plastic use, and fostering a sense of responsibility towards nature and local communities. This approach allows tourists to engage with these elements directly.
The event is scheduled to take place from February 5-7, 2026, and will be limited to 30 participants. It aims to provide travelers with an authentic green journey experience, highlighting the natural beauty of forests and streams, as well as the lifestyle of the Thung Phla community in Makham District, Chanthaburi Province.
