Teacher Allegedly Forces Child to Consume Milk Leading to Severe Allergic Reaction

Saraburi: Parents have raised serious concerns after their child suffered a severe allergic reaction, allegedly due to being forced to consume school milk by a teacher, which nearly resulted in partial deafness.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chanchai, accompanied by his son and a medical certificate, approached Mr. Piyawat Kittithanesuan, the secretary to the deputy speaker of the council. The incident involved his 5-year-old son, a Grade 3 student at a local school, who experienced a severe allergic reaction after drinking school milk, necessitating immediate medical attention at a hospital in Saraburi province on February 6.

The parents reported that despite informing the homeroom teacher three times about their son's chronic condition preventing him from consuming the milk, the teacher allegedly forced the child to drink it. This resulted in an allergic reaction manifesting as itching across his body. Subsequently, his ear membranes became inflamed, severely affecting his hearing. The child was urgently taken to the hospital, where doctors diagnosed an ear membrane infection induced by the allergic reaction. Though medication has been administered, the child's hearing remains impaired, and the family fears potential lasting hearing damage. The parents are seeking justice and an investigation into the teacher's actions, as the school administration has already apologized and initiated an inquiry.

During a visit by media representatives, a school management spokesperson acknowledged awareness of the situation and expressed concern for the child and his family. The school has pledged to investigate the teacher's conduct and has communicated the matter to relevant authorities through an explanatory letter.
