Bangkok: The Thai national extreme sports team is gearing up to leverage their continental competition experience and a year of rigorous training as they aim for a remarkable goal of winning six gold medals at the upcoming 2025 SEA Games.

According to Thai News Agency, the Extreme Sports Association of Thailand is sending a contingent of 24 athletes to compete in the 33rd SEA Games. This team is composed of seasoned national athletes and promising newcomers, representing the future of Thailand's extreme sports sector. The athletes have undergone continuous training and are prepared to compete regularly at both global and continental levels to amass experience for the SEA Games. The association has set its sights on securing 6 out of the 8 gold medals available in the skateboarding and watersports categories.

The Thai national cable wakeboard team, led by Praepim Pipatsawat and "PP" Peeranat Fakthongyu, who participated in the 2025 World Games, expressed their readiness ahead of the ASEAN sports festival. Peeranat emphasized their focus on enhancing endurance and muscle strength during training. Nevertheless, they are committed to delivering their best performance with an aim to secure the gold medal.

In skateboarding, the team led by "Nong ST" Wareeya Sukkasem, "Mini" Chankao Udomphen, and "Firas" Kirin Petchkiri, who has recovered from a torn right ankle ligament, is in prime condition. ST emphasized the necessity to enhance her strength and drive for the competition. Her objective for this SEA Games, as a 13-year-old debutant at the ASEAN sports festival, is to achieve a gold medal victory.
