Thai Fans Sell Out Tickets for 2026 Volleyball Nations League in Record Time

Bangkok: The president of the Volleyball Association expressed gratitude towards Thai fans for their enthusiastic support, as tickets for the 2026 Women's Volleyball Nations League (VNL), Week 2, quickly sold out. According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Somporn Chaibangyang, the President of the Volleyball Association of Thailand, conveyed his appreciation for the overwhelming response from Thai volleyball fans. The tickets for the Stage 2 matches, set to take place in Thailand from June 17-21, 2026, at the Indoor Stadium Huamark, were snapped up in a brief period. Mr. Somporn highlighted the sustained interest in volleyball among Thai supporters and mentioned that the association is considering larger venues to meet the increasing demand in the future. In preparations for the tournament, Thai women's volleyball team head coach Kiattipong Ratchatagriengkrai announced the 30-player squad for the 2026 Women's Nations League. The selection blends veteran experience with emerging talent, though Wipavee Srithong is n ot part of the lineup. Instead, Kattika Kaewpin, who has been performing notably in the Vietnamese league, joins the group. Key players include setter and captain Pornpun Guedparach, outside hitter and opposite hitter Chatchuon Moksri, Atcharaporn Kongyot, Sasipaporn Chantaravisut, Pimpichaya Kokram, middle blocker Thaddao Nuekjeng, and libero Piyanut Pannoy. The squad will be trimmed to 12-14 players weekly, with the allowance of up to 4 substitutes. The initial leg of VNL 2026 is scheduled in Nanjing, China. Thailand's matches are slated as follows: against Serbia on June 3, 2069, at 2:00 PM; against China on June 4, 2069, at 6:30 PM; against Belgium on June 6, 2069, at 2:00 PM; and against the Czech Republic on June 7, 2069, at 10:30 AM.
