Bangkok: Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkaew, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, engaged in a significant telephone discussion with Dr. Abdul Latif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, and Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, amid the Global Conference on Fraud.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sihasak extended his gratitude for the care provided to Thai citizens residing in Bahrain and the UAE and expressed appreciation for their assistance in facilitating the return of these citizens to Thailand. He also commended the United Arab Emirates for enabling the transit of 20 crew members from the "Mayuree Naree" cruise ship through Oman back to Thailand.
Mr. Sihasak highlighted his concerns regarding the regional situation and expressed hope for a peaceful resolution. He emphasized Thailand's readiness to support the diplomatic initiatives of Bahrain, the UAE, and other regional partners, including ASEAN's recent efforts to restore peace.
During the conversation, Bahraini and UAE officials shared insights on the Middle Eastern situation, voiced concerns over the "Mayuree Naree" cruise ship case, and underscored the significance of ensuring freedom of navigation in the region.
