The price of Thai gold in the country has set a new record high (All-Time High) following the world gold price and the weak baht. Gold ornaments are being sold at 43,750 baht per baht.
The Gold Traders Association reported that today’s gold price (October 21, 2018) has changed 13 times, with an increase of 12 times, totaling 700 baht. As of 4:16 p.m. (the 13th time), gold bars are being bought at 43,150 baht per baht and sold at 43,250 baht per baht. Gold ornaments are being bought at 43,372.20 baht per baht and sold at 43,750 baht per baht. This is an increase in line with the world market price, which has set a record high of 2,735 US dollars per ounce. In the evening, the baht was at 33.43 baht per US dollar, depreciating compared to this morning’s 33.16 baht per US dollar.
Kasikorn Research Center stated that the baht depreciated during the day in line with the depreciation of other Asian currencies and the yuan after the People’s Bank of China announced a 25 basis point reduction in the LPR rate. In a
ddition, the baht’s depreciation was in line with signals of foreign investor fund flows during the day, which today sold a net 698.89 million baht in Thai stocks and had a Net Outflows position from the Thai bond market of 1,630 million baht.
