Thai Helps Thai Plus Program Boosts Economy with Over 21 Million Participants

Bangkok: 140,000 people have already used the full 1,000 baht from "Thai Chuay Thai Plus". The government revealed that the "Thai Helps Thai Plus (60/40)" program has received a positive response, with spending exceeding 14,099 million baht. Over 21.85 million people have utilized the benefits, with 140,000 users having already spent the full 1,000 baht. Nearly 1 million merchants have participated, reflecting a recovery in purchasing power nationwide.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Lalida Periswiwatana, Deputy Spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed that the government, under the leadership of Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul, is moving forward with measures to stimulate the grassroots economy through the "Thai Helps Thai Plus (60/40)" project. This aims to increase purchasing power for the public, distribute income to small businesses, community shops, and local entrepreneurs nationwide. Latest data from the Fiscal Policy Office, Ministry of Finance, as of June 6, 2026, at 5:00 PM, reflects the project's continued positive response and its tangible impact on stimulating spending in the economy.

The deputy spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office stated that currently, 26,040,623 people have been eligible to participate in the project. The cumulative spending within the project stands at 14,099.82 million baht, comprising 8,205.35 million baht in government subsidies and 5,894.47 million baht spent by the public. A total of 21,852,006 people have successfully utilized their benefits, reflecting the significant participation and real spending within the economy.

Regarding merchants, there are 997,573 registered merchants ready to provide services, comprising 866,459 existing merchants and 131,114 new merchants. In addition, there are 3,613 merchants currently under review and 112,817 merchants awaiting acceptance of the terms and conditions (TandC), reflecting the continued interest of entrepreneurs in participating in the program.

The deputy spokesperson added that currently, there are 925,033 shops where actual spending has occurred through the project. As of June 5, 2026, at 11:00 PM, 142,610 people have already used their full 1,000 baht allowance, demonstrating the public's positive response to the government's economic stimulus measure, which has effectively helped reduce the cost of living and increase purchasing power.

'The continuously increasing spending figures reflect that the 'Thai Helps Thai Plus (60/40)' measures are truly stimulating the grassroots economy, both in terms of reducing the cost of living for the public, increasing income for small retailers, and creating money circulation in communities nationwide. The government will closely monitor the project's implementation to ensure it provides maximum benefit to the people and the country's economy,' Ms. Lalida said.

Furthermore, the use of these benefits through participating restaurants on food delivery platforms will commence on June 15, 2026, to increase convenience in accessing benefits and expand business opportunities for digital entrepreneurs.
