Thai Men’s 4x400m Relay Team Shatters Records at SEA Games

Bangkok: The Thai men's 4x400m relay team clinched a gold medal at the SEA Games, setting new records in the process. The event, held at the Supachalasai Stadium, National Stadium, featured five nations competing fiercely for the top spot. Starting in lane 5, the Thai team comprised Sarawut Nuansri, Khunphat Kraichan, Jirayu Pleenaram, and Joshua Robert Atkinson. According to Thai News Agency, Thailand was trailing for the initial three legs of the race until Atkinson's powerful sprint in the final 200 meters propelled the team to victory. They finished with a time of 3 minutes 3.07 seconds, breaking both the Thai national record and the SEA Games record. Vietnam secured the silver medal, while Singapore took home the bronze. In the women's 4x400m relay final, Thailand's team, consisting of Arisa Weluwanarak, Benny Nonthanum, Monthida Thongprajukaew, and Chineye Josephine Onuorah, finished second. Competing against Vietnam and the Philippines, the Thai women completed the race in 3 minutes 36.87 seconds, e arning the silver medal. Vietnam claimed the gold medal, with the Philippines finishing in third place for the bronze.
