Thai Women’s Futsal Triumphs Over Canada in 6-3 Victory

Bangkok: The Thai women's futsal team achieved a significant victory by defeating Canada 6-3, maintaining their momentum towards reaching the semi-finals of the Women's Futsal World Championship.

According to Thai News Agency, the match took place at the 2025 Women's Futsal World Cup held in Philsports Arena, Philippines. It was the second match of Group B, where Thailand, ranked 4th globally, faced off against Canada, ranked 74th. The Thai team played with determination, initially taking the lead twice, although Canada managed to equalize on both occasions, bringing the score to a 3-3 tie. However, Thailand's team surged ahead with three consecutive goals.

The scoring for Thailand was initiated by Darika Pienphailun, who netted goals in the 2nd and 4th minutes, followed by a goal from Saengrawee Meekam in the 20th minute. Darika Pienphailun completed her hat trick in the 25th minute, which was further extended by goals from Ariya Sae-Ten in the 30th minute and Jenjira Buppha in the 32nd minute.

Canada responded with two goals from Esther Brossard in the 9th and 13th minutes, along with a goal from Maude LaGrace in the 23rd minute. The match concluded with the Thai team securing victory and their first three points, placing them second in the group. This win keeps them in contention for the semi-finals. The upcoming match against Colombia, ranked 8th in the world, will be crucial. Both teams, tied with three points, are set to compete on November 28th at 5:00 p.m.
