Thai Women’s Team Clinches 27th Sepak Takraw World Championship Title

Bangkok: The Thai women's sepak takraw team delivered an outstanding performance, defeating Vietnam to win their 27th World Sepak Takraw Team Championship title. According to Thai News Agency, the 2026 Sepak Takraw World Championship, the 39th King's Cup, was held at Fashion Island, Bangkok. In the women's team final, the Thai team (in blue) faced Vietnam. Team A of Thailand fielded Nipaporn Salubpol as the server, Masaya Duangsri as the setter, and Wilaiwan Kotprom as the hitter. Their excellent teamwork and powerful net attacks secured a 2-0 victory over Vietnam, 15-7 and 17-14, giving Thailand a 1-0 lead. Then, Team B of Thailand fielded Wipada Jitpruan (server), Paphanin Sihanok (setter), Somrudee Pruaprak (hitter), and Rasmi Thongsood (substitute hitter). The Thai women continued their strong performance, winning another 2-0 sets (15-12 and 15-11). This resulted in a 2-0 victory for the Thai women's team over Vietnam, securing the Sepak Takraw World Championship title for 2026. This marks their 27th co nsecutive women's team championship title. Today's competition will be the men's team final, taking place this afternoon.
