According to Thai News Agency, the championship is being held in Tianjin, People's Republic of China. In Group B of the group stage, the Thai team, ranked 18th globally, secured their second consecutive win after previously defeating Australia 3-0, garnering a total of 6 points. Their latest victory was against Indonesia, ranked 49th, who also had 3 points before this match. Head coach Kiattipong Ratchatagriengkrai strategically fielded a starting lineup featuring captain Pornpun Guedparach, alongside players Thaddao Nuekjaeng, Sasipaporn Chantavisut, Chatchuon Moksri, Pimpichaya Kokram, Kaewkallaya Kamulthala, and libero Kalyarat Khamwong.
