Thailand and Bahrain Discuss Economic and Tourism Cooperation

Kuala Lumpur: The Prime Minister of Thailand, Paethongtarn Shinawatra, held discussions with His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, focusing on strengthening economic and tourism ties between the two nations.

According to Thai News Agency, the meeting took place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, where the leaders deliberated on enhancing bilateral relations. The Prime Minister emphasized Thailand's willingness to provide details on the proposed Land Bridge project, which aims to connect the Gulf of Thailand and the Andaman Sea, potentially boosting Bahrain's logistics capabilities.

The leaders expressed mutual admiration for the close ties between Thailand and Bahrain. They also exchanged perspectives on global issues, such as the high US customs duty, which could impact trade. Both sides identified tourism and logistics as key areas for potential collaboration, with Bahrain's strategic position offering opportunities as a cargo hub. This cooperation aims to link air and sea transportation, bolstering Bahrain's status as a crucial regional transit point.
