Thailand and Israel Mark 72 Years with Inclusive Playground Launch

Nonthaburi: The Embassy of Israel in Thailand and MASHAV, Israel's Agency for International Development Cooperation, joined the National Housing Authority (NHA) to inaugurate an inclusive playground, marking 72 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

According to Thai News Agency, the "Israel-Thailand Friendship Playground," located at the Baan Eua-Arthon Bang Yai housing project in Nonthaburi, was officially opened on May 14 following a groundbreaking ceremony last year. The event was attended by NHA Governor Taweepong Wichaidit and local residents.

Israeli Ambassador to Thailand, Dr. Alona Fisher-Kamm, emphasized that playgrounds serve as the first environment where children learn cooperation, kindness, and respect for differences. She noted that these values form the foundation of a resilient society and that the project symbolizes the long-standing support between Israelis and Thais.

Israel, recognized globally as a "Startup Nation" and a leader in accessibility innovation, designed the facility to ensure children of all physical abilities can interact and grow together. The project reflects Israel's commitment to social inclusion and aims to strengthen ties at both the governmental and people-to-people levels.

The facility covers 360 square meters within a community of approximately 7,000 residents, including 1,500 children. Funded and equipped by the Israeli Embassy and MASHAV, the playground is the first of its kind in the area designed specifically to promote community engagement through inclusive design.
