Thailand Waives Toll Fees on Three Major Expressways for Public Holidays

Bangkok: The Expressway Authority of Thailand (EXAT) will waive toll fees on three expressways for three days in May 2026.

According to Thai News Agency, this initiative by EXAT, under the Ministry of Transport, aims to facilitate public travel during public holidays and reduce expenses for commuters. The toll fee waiver will apply to the Chalerm Mahanakorn Expressway, Si Ratch Expressway, and Udon Ratchaya Expressway, covering a total of 63 toll booths. This move is part of the amended concession agreement involving EXAT, Bangkok Expressway and Rail Public Company Limited (BEM), and Northern Bangkok Expressway Company Limited (NECL).

The toll-free days coincide with three public holidays announced by the Prime Minister's Office: Coronation Day on May 4, Royal Ploughing Ceremony Day on May 13, and Visakha Bucha Day on May 31. Each toll-free period will last from 00:01 to 24:00 on the respective days.

EXAT emphasizes the importance of safe driving during this period and urges the public to adhere to road safety guidelines. Commuters can access travel information through the EXAT Call Center, which operates 24 hours a day.
