Thammanat Announced as Top Prime Minister Candidate by Kla Tham Party

Bangkok: Ms. Narumon Pinyosinwat, Minister of Education and leader of the Kla Tham Party, has confirmed that Captain Thamanat Phromphao will be the party's number one candidate for the prime ministerial position. She made this announcement while preparing to introduce the group led by Mr. Chalermchai Sri-on, a former leader of the Democrat Party, who will be joining the Kla Tham Party. According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chalermchai and his group are scheduled to apply for membership in the Kla Tham Party today. Ms. Narumon acknowledged their application and mentioned that the exact number of new members would be disclosed at noon. The introduction today will focus solely on Mr. Chalermchai's group. When questioned about the potential impact of Mr. Chalermchai's group joining the party, Ms. Narumon expressed confidence that it would strengthen the party's presence in the South and other regions. She noted that new members are joining continuously and will be gradually introduced, with clarity expected once t he Election Commission opens registration. Addressing inquiries about the party's goals for increasing its number of MPs, Ms. Narumon suggested that the target would be similar to the previous election, with numbers anticipated to be close to those achieved last time. Ms. Narumon also stated that the Kla Tham Party has not yet discussed the unveiling of its prime ministerial candidate. However, she confirmed Captain Thamanat Phromphao as the definite top candidate. When asked about her potential candidacy and the possibility of fielding three candidates to avoid unforeseen political issues, she mentioned that the party is not overly concerned with such matters and will prioritize suitability.
