Siam Paragon, The Prime Minister welcomes the House of Representatives to pass the equal marriage law, hoping it will pass. The Senate tells many LGBTQ couples are waiting to get married.

Mr. Settha Thavisin, Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Gave an interview after the House of Representatives approved the draft bill to amend the Civil and Commercial Code (No. …) B.E…..or the Equal Marriage Law, saying, “Good. I would like it to be approved by the Senate as well.” Because there are many people who want to get married. Today I walked into this department store and saw many smiles from LGBTQ people.

The reporter asked that the House of Representatives approve the said law. Many people view it not as giving rights but as restoring rights to the LGBTQ group. The Prime Minister said that everyone already has equal rights. which is already in accordance with the principles which the government is trying to push to happen

The reporter asked when the Prime Minister had talked with the LGBTQ group a whil
e ago and what was discussed. The Prime Minister said that he had asked him when he would get married because there were many couples waiting for marriage. Because it is a matter of basic rights

‘Like me or a female reporter. If you want to get married tomorrow, you can get married. But imagine if a group of LGBTQ people wanted to get married but were unable to do so. What is it that limits his rights? But today whether it is called granting rights or reinstating rights. But I have to give it to him. It is a matter that we have always focused on,’ the Prime Minister stated.

Reporters reported that while the Prime Minister visited a booth selling products made from loincloths. Inside Siam Paragon Shopping Center, a group of LGBTQ people walked in to thank the Prime Minister for the equal marriage law passed by the House of Representatives. The Prime Minister inquired that Are you married yet? causing the said person to immediately reply that ‘If the law passes, we will marry.’
