Thieves on Motorcycle Snatch Bag from Hong Kong Tourist in Pathumwan

Bangkok: A thief on a motorcycle approached a tourist's tuk-tuk and snatched their bag before fleeing. Two thieves targeted a Hong Kong female tourist, swiftly approaching her tuk-tuk and grabbing her handbag. Authorities are currently examining CCTV footage to identify and capture the culprits involved in this incident.

According to Thai News Agency, the incident occurred at 1:47 AM on February 25, 2026. Police at Pathumwan Police Station received a report involving two male suspects. The driver was described as having a stout build and wearing a red shirt, while the passenger wore a white shirt. They snatched a bag from the tourist in a swift operation.

An investigation at the crime scene opposite Supachalasai Stadium on Rama 1 Road in Pathumwan district showed that the victim, a Hong Kong woman, was riding a motorized rickshaw when the two suspects on a motorcycle approached her. Despite her efforts to hold onto the bag, the suspects managed to snatch it, resulting in her sustaining minor injuries.

The stolen shoulder bag contained important items, including a passport and approximately 10,000 baht in cash. Following the theft, the suspects fled the scene on a motorcycle, heading towards Pathumwan intersection. Police officers at Pathumwan Police Station have been alerted and have instructed the investigative team to promptly review CCTV footage in order to locate and apprehend the perpetrators.
