Bangkok: Villagers are terrified as "Pinn," a tigress, descends from the mountain and attacks to eat dogs in the middle of the night. Villagers are alarmed by "Mae Suea Pin," an elderly female tiger, who has wandered out of her protected forest area and into the Khlong Lan community of Kamphaeng Phet province for the second time. She has been seen eating a dog in the middle of the night, prompting authorities to urgently guide her back into the forest.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Chumphol, a villager, and Mr. Nukrai, the village headman of Moo 2, Khlong Lan Pattana Subdistrict, Khlong Lan District, Kamphaeng Phet Province, inspected the area around the chicken coop and cow shed where the tigress, Pin, had caused damage. The first incident involving Pin occurred on August 6, 2026, when she sneaked in and stole over 20 hens and chicks before fleeing back into the forest. Most recently, on August 11, Pin returned to the same location, attacking a chained dog and carrying it away to eat in a cornfield.
Pin, a 13-year-old tigress, is considered elderly; her age is equivalent to 65-75 years in human terms. Despite her age, villagers are concerned about their safety and are hesitant to work in their fields. They have called on authorities to swiftly relocate her back into the deep forest. Following these incidents, the village head of Moo 2 has warned local residents to exercise caution and has coordinated with park officials for close monitoring of the situation.
A review of drone footage by officials has revealed that the tigress, Pin, has now returned to the protected forest area. However, continued surveillance is deemed necessary for the safety of local residents, as there is a possibility she may return again.
