Timeline of the Confrontation at Ban Nong Ya Kaew: Cambodian Unrest Continues


Ban nong ya kaew: Officials used tear gas and rubber bullets after Cambodian protesters caused chaos. At 4:20 p.m. in Ban Nong Ya Kaew, Khok Sung District, Sa Kaeo Province, tensions escalated on the Thai-Cambodian border when a group of Cambodian villagers confronted Thai riot control police. In response, officials resorted to using tear gas and rubber bullets to manage the situation.



According to Thai News Agency, by 4:25 p.m., both sides had retreated from the confrontation line due to the thick smoke from the tear gas, although verbal exchanges continued as insults were hurled at Thai officials.



By 4:42 p.m., Thai officials had reinforced border security by setting up barbed wire and using car tires to establish a defensive perimeter.



At 5:00 p.m., the Thai side intensified crowd control measures, employing additional tear gas, rubber bullets, and high-frequency loudspeakers (LRADs) to regain control and restore peace and order.



While the general situation is currently under control, Cambodian groups remain stationed near the border, maintaining a tense atmosphere in the area.
