Prasat ta kwai: On the second day of tourism at Ta Kwai Castle and Hill 350, the number of tourists exceeded 1,500. Reporters say that the atmosphere at "Prasat Ta Kwai - Hill 350" in Bak Dai Subdistrict, Phanom Dong Rak District, Surin Province, remains lively for the second day since it reopened to tourists under systematic safety measures. Many people from various areas have come to experience this historical, natural, and heroic site for Thai soldiers along the border. Throughout the day, people continuously arrived, registering both through online bookings and walk-ins, to visit Prasat Ta Kwai and Hill 350, a key viewpoint and strategic point along the Thai-Cambodian border. Strict security measures are in place to facilitate and protect visitors. All tourists must park their cars at Ban Thai Santisuk School before registering and using the shuttle service provided by local authorities to control traffic and manage the area smoothly and safely. Private vehicles are not permitted to reach the upper touris t spots.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Natthaphat Boonmee, the mayor of Bak Dai Subdistrict Administrative Organization, organized the 3rd Farmer Promotion Project of 2026, under the name "Bak Dai's Best Products," at Ban Santisuk School, Village No. 16, Bak Dai Subdistrict. The event provided a platform for farmers to sell their agricultural produce directly to the public and tourists. The event featured a large selection of local fruits, including durian, rambutan, and mangosteen, attracting considerable interest from tourists waiting to visit Ta Kwai Castle and Hill 350. As a result, many fruits, especially mangosteen, sold out quickly after the event opened, reflecting the money circulating into the community and the economic opportunities created by border tourism.
Sources from the 2nd Army Region revealed that as of 11:00 AM today, more than 1,500 tourists had already entered the area, out of a quota of 2,000. This is an increase from the first day the area reopened on June 6th, and it is expected that the number of tourists will definitely exceed 2,000 throughout the day. The success of this reopening not only restores public confidence in the government and military's security measures but also demonstrates the potential of the border area to develop into a historical and educational tourist destination. This can generate income for the community while sustainably fostering awareness of history and national security.
