Sakon Nakhon: The hot weather in Sakon Nakhon Province has led to a surge in visitors to Nong Harn Lake, where people are flocking to enjoy the scenic views and refreshing waters. This influx of tourists is providing a boost to the local economy as families seek outdoor activities during weekends and school breaks.
According to Thai News Agency, the Baan Thao Wat raft service point in Lao Po Daeng Subdistrict, Mueang District, has become a popular destination. The community provides rafts for tourists to relax and cool off in the beautiful surroundings of Nong Harn Lake. The lively atmosphere sees many tourists making the most of the raft services, enjoying leisure time with family and friends.
Ms. Chanta Nana-wan, owner of Pha Fa Sai, shared that the rafting spot attracts numerous families every summer. Her operation includes four rafts, each accommodating up to 15 people. The rafts come equipped with amenities such as cups, plates, spoons, ice buckets, and barbecue grills. For safety, life jackets and floats are available, and tourists can bring their own food and drinks. A long-tail boat is used to tow the rafts into the lake, with a rental fee of 1,200 baht for the entire day, though hourly rates are also offered. The ongoing Songkran festival has led to a long queue of bookings, generating jobs and income for the community by evenly distributing revenue and ensuring economic circulation.
