Bangkok: Attawich Suwannabhakdi, a prominent figure in the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party, has announced that two MPs from the National Security Council are prepared to support Anutin Charnvirakul of the Bhumjaithai Party in his bid for Prime Minister. This development comes ahead of a crucial vote scheduled for tomorrow morning.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Atthawich Suwannabhakdi, a party-list MP and deputy leader of the Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party, confirmed in an interview that the two MPs are committed to backing Mr. Anutin. The support is primarily aimed at advancing two significant legislative proposals: the Solar Energy Promotion Act, also known as the "Solar Liberalization" Act, and the Credit Information Business Act, referred to as the "Credit Bureau Unlocking" Act. The former is deemed essential due to the ongoing oil price crisis, while the latter would enable 5 million individuals to regain access to formal loans.
Mr. Suwannabhakdi noted that recent discussions had been positive, although further details regarding the party's stance on the bills and coalition government participation would be clarified tomorrow. He emphasized his dedication to advancing the party's legislative agenda, stating that he would continue to fight for their completion regardless of the number of MPs supporting him.
In terms of parliamentary efforts, Mr. Peerapan has tasked Mr. Suwannabhakdi with driving the party's critical legislation while he focuses on expanding the party's network and establishing branches. The Ruam Thai Sang Chart Party faced challenges in fielding candidates during the last election due to the inability to conduct primary voting. Consequently, Mr. Suwannabhakdi aims to ensure the party's success in parliament and expresses readiness to collaborate with all parties.
