Bangkok: A delegation from the U.S. Embassy visited MCOT Public Company Limited to discuss activities celebrating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. This visit aimed to foster cooperation in promoting U.S.-Thailand relations and publicizing the "Freedom 250" celebrations.
According to Thai News Agency, Deborah Ann McLean, Press and Cultural Advisor, and Chris D. Helmkamp, Spokesperson of the U.S. Embassy in Thailand, led the delegation. They met with Mr. Nattapong Patarapong, Assistant Director-General of the Thai News Agency, and Mr. Suwit Trapamahaudom, Assistant Director-General of the Radio Bureau. The discussions centered on the strong relationship between the two organizations and explored future collaboration in information dissemination and joint activities.
During the visit, the Press and Cultural Affairs Counselor highlighted the U.S. Embassy's plans for the 250th anniversary celebrations, which include an American-style fair. This fair will feature stalls, performances, and more, and will be held in four major cities across Thailand starting in August 2026. The events will commence in Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat), followed by Hat Yai in September, Chiang Mai in October, and Bangkok in November. The initiative aims to enhance relations and understanding between the two countries at various levels, including government, private sector, and the general public.
