Bangkok: General Adul Boonthamcharoen, Thailand's Minister of Defence, welcomed the U.S. Deputy Secretary of War, Mr. Elbridge Andrew Colby, during his official visit to Thailand. The visit aims to enhance defense cooperation between the two nations.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Colby, accompanied by a high-level delegation, arrived in Thailand on an official visit from August 12-13, 2026. The visit included an official reception at the Montathip Room, Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel, hosted by General Adul Boonthamcharoen. The Chief of Staff to the Commander-in-Chief, General Anupap Sirimondol, represented the Royal Thai Army at the event.
The visit underscores the strong military relationship between Thailand and the United States, focusing on mutual defense activities. The presence of Mr. Colby, a distinguished security studies scholar and former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Strategy and Forces Development, highlights the importance of regional security cooperation.
