Bangkok: The US is prepared to launch another attack on Iran if no agreement is reached, stated U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hexeth on Saturday. As negotiations between Washington and Tehran continue to face significant obstacles, Hexeth emphasized the readiness of the United States to resume military operations if necessary.
According to Thai News Agency, Hexeth made these comments during the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, an important Asian security forum attended by defense, military, and diplomatic leaders. He assured that the US possesses substantial capability to recommence attacks, with its weapons arsenals well-prepared both locally and globally for such a mission.
Hexeth further noted that despite the ongoing conflict with Iran, the United States remains committed to the Asia-Pacific region. He highlighted the US's ability to manage multiple missions simultaneously, stressing the acceleration of the defense industry to enhance missile and weapons production capacity significantly. This strategic move aims to support all global operations effectively.
Additionally, Hexeth mentioned that President Donald Trump is exercising patience in the negotiations and is determined to secure a significant deal to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
