Nakhon sawan: A tragic collision occurred when a van from the Uthai Thani Provincial Public Health Office collided with a six-wheeled truck, resulting in three fatalities and multiple injuries.
According to Thai News Agency, the accident took place on Highway 1, the Nakhon Sawan-Kamphaeng Phet road, in Nong Kradon Subdistrict, Mueang Nakhon Sawan District, at 3 PM. The van, on an official inspection trip to Kamphaeng Phet province, collided with a truck belonging to the Highway Department. The accident led to the deaths of three individuals and left several others injured.
Authorities reported that the van had eight passengers and was severely damaged in the collision. The victims included a doctor, a nurse, and the van driver. Five other passengers and two Highway Department employees sustained injuries. The truck was parked on the far right side of the road as workers were collecting logs.
Witnesses recounted that the workers were in the process of removing a warning sign when the van crashed into the truck. Despite warning signs being placed approximately 200 meters away, the van hit one before colliding with the truck. Police are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the accident and are questioning those involved and witnesses at the scene.
