Caracas: Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, who recently received the Nobel Peace Prize for her efforts in promoting democracy, announced her intention to return to Venezuela shortly.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Machado made this declaration during an interview with Fox News, emphasizing that the arrest of President Nicol¡s Maduro marked a pivotal moment for humanity, freedom, and human dignity. She is currently abroad but intends to return to Venezuela as soon as possible.

This announcement comes after Ms. Machado's first interview since President Maduro was detained by the United States. She had temporarily left Venezuela to travel to Norway, where she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. The Nobel Committee recognized her relentless struggle against Venezuela's dictatorial regime as the reason for her accolade.
