Bangkok: The Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (MWA) has taken action to adjust water diversion strategies in response to a significant road subsidence near Vajira Hospital on Samsen Road. This incident has led to a major disruption in water supply across several areas in the city, affecting numerous residents and businesses.
According to Thai News Agency, the damage to a 1,200 mm diameter main water pipe caused by the road subsidence has necessitated an immediate halt to the water supply. The temporary suspension is expected to impact Thahan Road, Tha Kasem Road, Samsen Road, and several other key roads and intersections. The affected areas extend from Khlong Bang Sue to the Chao Phraya River, disrupting water access for a vast number of residents.
In response to this unexpected situation, the MWA has dispatched water trucks to provide temporary relief and is actively working on water management solutions by diverting water from surrounding areas. Residents experiencing water issues are encouraged to reach out to the MWA Call Center at 1125, which operates 24 hours a day, for assistance and updates on the situation.
The MWA extends its apologies for the inconvenience caused and assures the public that efforts are being made to resolve the issue swiftly to restore normal water supply.
