Yotchanan Leads Pheu Thai MPs to Parliament with No Cabinet Quota Discussions Yet

Bangkok: Yotsanun Wongsawat led the Pheu Thai party-list MPs to report to Parliament, emphasizing that discussions regarding cabinet quotas have yet to occur.

According to Thai News Agency, Julaphan Amornvivat dismissed the matter as media speculation, emphasizing the need to wait for the leading party's decision.

Mr. Yotsanan Wongsawat, a party-list MP and Prime Minister candidate of the Pheu Thai Party, along with Mr. Julaphan Amornvivat, leader of the Pheu Thai Party, and Mr. Suriya Jungrungruangkit, also a Prime Minister candidate, reported to the Secretariat of the 27th House of Representatives. They gathered at the Pheu Thai Party headquarters and traveled via electric buses for registration.

After reporting for duty, Mr. Sachanan expressed the significance of the day, stating that it marked an important milestone as they were prepared for their duties as party-list MPs. He highlighted the readiness of the Pheu Thai Party members to commence their work.

On the topic of ministerial quotas, Mr. Yotchanan mentioned that no discussions have taken place with the leading party, and they are waiting for further developments. He also addressed reports suggesting the Pheu Thai Party had secured eight seats, stating they are awaiting completion of necessary processes.

Regarding the list of ministers from the Pheu Thai Party, Mr. Yotsanan shared that discussions had occurred during the preparation phase to identify individuals with expertise in relevant areas. However, the final cabinet list awaits Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul's decision.

When questioned about the accuracy of a leaked list of candidates, Mr. Chulaphan clarified that it was speculative and not officially released by the party. He urged patience until the party's executive committee submits a name to the Prime Minister for approval, including the position of Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Discussing the nomination rights for the Second Deputy Speaker position, Mr. Julapan stated that all parties have the right to propose candidates. He noted that the Pheu Thai Party, being the second largest political party, is suitable for the position. However, internal discussions are ongoing, and no decision has been made.
