Bangkok: Yotchanan Wongsawat, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, remains unfazed by the impending no-confidence motion against his ministry. He insists that all procedures have been followed and expresses readiness to address any questions without prior preparation.
According to Thai News Agency, Yotchanan was interviewed at Government House regarding the opposition's plan to submit a no-confidence motion after the parliamentary session opens. He stated that a committee has been established to handle concerns related to the ministry's AI project, emphasizing that procedures and instructions have been adhered to.
When questioned about his confidence in providing clarifications, Yotchanan highlighted that the focus is not on confidence but on consistently following the process. He assured that there is nothing to worry about.
Responding to inquiries about needing preparation or guidance from the Pheu Thai party for a parliamentary debate, Yotchanan asserted that, as Deputy Prime Minister, he bears full responsibility for the matter. He emphasized that his commitment to the task is not driven by personal reasons but by his duty to the country.
Yotchanan reiterated that he has done his utmost and the information he has prepared is sufficient for addressing questions today. He sees no need for further preparation and is unconcerned about separating political aspects from the ministry's responsibilities.
