Yotchanan Volunteers to Resolve Thailand’s Crisis and Overhaul GDP

Bangkok: The Pheu Thai Party recently hosted an event titled "Overhauling Thailand: Pheu Thai Can Do It," introducing its three prime ministerial candidates. Yotchanan Wongsawat, one of the candidates, has volunteered to address the country's crisis, revamp the GDP, and establish a foundation for increased income while continuing the ideals from "Thai Rak Thai to Pheu Thai," envisioning a hopeful future where anything is achievable.

According to Thai News Agency, the event was attended by former Prime Ministers Paetongtarn Shinawatra and Somchai Wongsawat, along with party members and supporters. Yotchanan Wongsawat, son of former Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to be a prime ministerial candidate and shared his extensive travels across Thailand, emphasizing his Thai identity and the belief that anything is possible in the country.

Yotchanan recounted his professional journey, highlighting his roles at Mahidol University's Faculty of Engineering and his contributions to technology and innovation. Notably, he developed a brain-computer interface device to assist people with severe disabilities and launched a startup to detect drowsiness in real-time, aiming to reduce road accidents. His participation in the Cyborg Olympics further demonstrated his commitment to advancing technology for people with disabilities.

Reflecting on Thailand's challenges, Yotchanan noted the recurring economic issues and emphasized the need for a fundamental approach to resolve them. He commended past prime ministers for their efforts and expressed readiness to lead Thailand out of the current crisis by restructuring the economy and embracing technological advancements.

Yotchanan proposed a policy focused on transforming Thailand into a high-income country by enhancing agriculture, manufacturing, and services. He stressed the importance of creativity, technology, trust, security, political stability, environmental protection, and anti-corruption measures as essential components for achieving GDP growth and equal opportunities for all Thais.

Drawing inspiration from former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, Yotchanan envisioned an era of change and reform, aiming to elevate Thailand's international standing. He emphasized that the journey is not just for the Pheu Thai Party but for all Thais to unite and rebuild the nation.

Yotchanan concluded with a call for unity, stating that the combined efforts of the Thai Rak Thai and Pheu Thai parties, along with the new generation, can indeed overhaul Thailand. "Starting from today, this very moment, this very second, we can overhaul Thailand. Pheu Thai can do it. If Pheu Thai can do it, Thailand can definitely do it," he affirmed.
