Bangkok: Pheu Thai Party list MP Adisorn Piangket has declared his intention to separate from the opposition leader and whip, during a parliamentary session. His statement highlighted the current political dynamics that prevent collaboration with other political parties. According to Thai News Agency, Adisorn explained that while Pheu Thai remains committed to its MP duties, the political situation regarding the prime ministerial election has made collaboration with other political entities challenging. Pheu Thai has nominated Chaikasem Nitisiri as its prime ministerial candidate, whereas the opposing party has chosen Anutin Charnvirakul of the Bhumjaithai Party. This difference indicates a clear division between the opposition and government supporters, with policy statements expected to be delivered in parliament on September 29-30. Adisorn used a metaphor, referring to his experiences in the Northeast and comparing the political situation to a banana pole. He emphasized that Pheu Thai acts as an oppositi on rather than a supporter, drawing a distinction between supporting and opposing roles in parliament. During the debate, Adisorn presented an image of a banana tree with a pole, captioned "The Curse of the Banana Pole," to illustrate his point.
