Bangkok: PTT Global Chemical Public Company Limited (GC), the flagship chemical business of PTT Group, has announced the interest rates for its subordinated equity-like debentures, which are redeemable upon dissolution with the option for the issuer to redeem before maturity. The interest rate for the first five years and six months is set at 4.40% per annum. The offering is slated for general investors from November 27-28 and December 1-3, 2025, through 12 financial institutions.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Titipong Chulpronsiridee, Senior Executive Vice President of Finance and Accounting at GC, remarked on the current global economic uncertainty and the downward trend in interest rates since the start of the year. GC believes that its subordinated equity-like debentures provide an appealing investment option for those seeking stable long-term returns, offering higher yields than traditional deposits and debentures. This issuance aligns with GC's strategy to bolster its capital structure and support sustainable growth, while advancing its high-value and low-carbon business initiatives, thus reinforcing its status as a leader in the global chemical industry. GC is positioning these debentures as a New Year's gift for investors.
The interest rate for these debentures, which closely resemble equity, is set at 4.40% per annum for the initial five and a half years. The subscription period for general investors is scheduled between November 27-28 and December 1-3, 2025, with applications accepted both at branches and online through selected underwriters, available daily including weekends.
"This issuance of subordinated debentures, akin to equity, serves not only as a capital management tool but also as a strategic move to reinforce GC's financial position. It supports the deleveraging program and prepares the company for long-term growth in line with our strategy to develop high-value, low-carbon businesses," said Mr. Titipong.
GC's subordinated perpetual debentures were rated AA- (tha) with a "stable" outlook by Fitch Ratings (Thailand) Co., Ltd. on April 8, 2025. On July 7, 2025, these debentures achieved the highest rating for their type in Thailand, A (tha), reflecting GC's financial stability and investor confidence. The debentures carry a 50% equity credit for the rating and are considered 100% equity for their entire lifespan.
