Anwar Discusses Peace Efforts with Trump, Excludes Trade Talks

Kuala lumpur: Anwar revealed that he spoke with Trump to support Thailand and Cambodia's demining and peace efforts, and that it was not related to any form of trade cooperation.

According to Thai News Agency, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim posted on X in English, detailing his discussions with former U.S. President Donald J. Trump, Prime Minister Hun Manet, and Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul. The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to the full implementation of the Kuala Lumpur Peace Accord, emphasizing the importance of making progress on demining efforts without engaging in trade cooperation.

Anwar expressed appreciation for President Trump's active involvement in the peace process. The discussions were also translated into Thai, where Anwar reiterated the shared commitment with Trump, Hun Sen, and Charnvirakul to advance demining efforts and highlighted Trump's proactive role in seeking a resolution to this issue.
