Suchart Orders Helicopter Dispatch to Aid Hat Yai Hospital Power Restoration

Hat yai: Suchart Chomklin, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, has ordered the immediate dispatch of a Royal Thai Army helicopter to transport a generator to Hat Yai Hospital. This move aims to assist in repairing the hospital's power supply, which has been disrupted due to severe flooding.

According to Thai News Agency, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MNRE) has already taken steps to support Hat Yai Hospital by facilitating the transport of patients to Songkla Nakarin Hospital (PSU) amidst the ongoing crisis. The flooding and subsequent power outages have persisted, prompting coordination between Mr. Phatthana Promphat, Minister of Public Health, and Mr. Peerapol Puranachote, Deputy Governor of the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA). Together, they arranged for an MNRE helicopter to deliver a generator and an electrician from the Royal Thai Navy to address the electrical issues at the hospital.

The efforts led by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment included urgent helicopter flights to transport essential repair equipment and personnel, successfully reaching Hat Yai Hospital. The Provincial Electricity Authority is actively working to restore normal power, which will ensure the continued treatment of patients at the facility. Meanwhile, the Ministry remains committed to ongoing flood relief operations in the Hat Yai area until conditions improve.

In addition to these efforts, the Royal Thai Army's Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) has been instrumental in ongoing operations, providing critical assistance in transporting severely ill patients, newborns, and emergency cases. This initiative is part of a collaborative effort with the Ministry of Public Health and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) since the onset of the flooding in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province.
