Queen Completes Half Marathon with Eliud Kipchoge in Bangkok

Bangkok: Her Majesty the Queen participated in the renowned "Run Through the City" Season 8, "Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok," completing the half marathon alongside legendary marathon runner Eliud Kipchoge in 2 hours and 13 minutes. The event, held on November 30, 2025, saw nearly 20,000 runners from across the globe.

According to Thai News Agency, the marathon was organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, alongside the Sports Authority of Thailand, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, the Athletics Association of Thailand, and the Thailand Tri-League. His Majesty the King was present at the event, honking the air horn to signal the start of the 21.1 km race and running alongside Kipchoge.

The marathon route took participants through a scenic course starting from Phaya Thai Road, passing landmarks like the Royal Thai Police Headquarters, Lumphini Park, and the Democracy Monument before concluding at Sanam Luang. Her Majesty crossed the finish line at 4:29 a.m., receiving a commemorative medal from Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and a commemorative shirt from Deputy Prime Minister Captain Thammanat Prompao.

His Majesty also officiated the 10-kilometer race, sending off runners and later awarding trophies to winners in various categories at the ceremonial pavilion at Sanam Luang. The event underscored Her Majesty's commitment to promoting health and fitness, serving as a role model for the younger generation.

Her Majesty, known for her interest in various sports, including sailing, running, and ice hockey, regularly trains and competes. Last year, she participated in a 10km run at the "7th Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok Presented by Toyota" alongside Kipchoge, inspiring Thai national athletes and sports enthusiasts worldwide.
