Government Savings Bank Initiates Flood Recovery Efforts in Hat Yai

Hat yai: The Government Savings Bank (GSB) is revitalizing Hat Yai by cleaning, cleaning, and repairing motorcycles. The "GSB Helps Repair" motorcycle service is now open, with mobile vehicles providing cash deposits and withdrawals, and a GSB kitchen in front of Big C Extra Hat Yai.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Lapawan Chankrachang, Deputy Managing Director of the Government Savings Bank and Acting President of the Government Savings Bank, revealed that the bank immediately expedited rehabilitation efforts in the flood-affected area of Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, following the receding water levels. The CSR team, Government Savings Bank Region 18, along with volunteer partners from the Dusit Southern Construction Club, began clearing debris and cleaning up various areas in communities surrounding the Government Savings Bank branch, schools, and mosques. Heavy equipment and water were provided for cleaning by the Songkhla Provincial Department of Public Works and Town and Country Planning. Furthermore, cleaning supplies were provided to communities near the bank branch and preparations were made to renovate buildings at schools, temples, and mosques. The bank is currently assessing the damage to plan and expedite further operations.

For urgent recovery assistance, the bank recently opened "GSB Helps Repair" points in community areas, allowing people to bring damaged motorcycles for free repairs. Additionally, those seeking financial services can use the "Deposit, Withdrawal, Transfer, and Payment" service with the Government Savings Bank mobile van, which is now parked in front of Big C Extra Hat Yai from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

During this period, the Bank will continue distributing cooked food, cooking ingredients, relief kits, clothing, medicine, and other essential emergency supplies to various shelters and disaster-affected individuals.

The Government Savings Bank Kitchen, located in front of Big C Extra Hat Yai, will remain open for distribution of food to the public during lunch and evening hours daily until the situation improves. The bank is also preparing additional assistance measures to assist and support the recovery process, allowing people to return to normal life as soon as possible.
