Bangkok: The Social Security Office has announced the cancellation of the production of the 2026 Social Security Calendar. Ms. Kanchana Poolkaew, the Secretary-General of the Social Security Office, explained that the decision was made due to a delay in the procurement process, which was caused by an appeal against the bidding results. This delay meant that the calendar could not be produced and delivered by the December 2025 deadline, leading to the project's termination to avoid potential economic damage.
According to Thai News Agency, the calendar project was initially carried out through electronic bidding (e-bidding) in line with the Government Procurement and Supplies Management Act B.E. 2560 (2017). This process was designed to ensure transparency and verifiability. However, an appeal against the winning bidder's announcement necessitated the Social Security Office's submission of the case to the Comptroller General's Department's Appeals Committee. Although the committee found the objections to be unfounded and allowed the procurement process to continue, the elapsed time meant the calendar could not be produced within the specified timeframe outlined in the Terms of Reference (TOR).
Ms. Kanchana highlighted that despite the absence of a calendar for 2026, the Social Security Office remains committed to providing employers, employees, insured persons, and the public with complete, accurate, and up-to-date information through various channels.
