General Kung’s Visit Brings Relief and Supplies to Sa Kaeo Evacuation Center

Sa kaeo: The evacuation center in Sa Kaeo Province is bustling with activity, with music provided to help the people relieve stress. A lively atmosphere was observed at the center as soldiers sang songs and played music to relieve stress for the residents. They expressed a desire for more visitors and more activities to bring laughter.

According to Thai News Agency, the evacuation center was more lively today than on previous days because "General Kung" (a nickname for a high-ranking official) visited and distributed supplies to all the people who had to evacuate their homes. Upon his arrival, "General Kung" was warmly welcomed by the people, who lined up to greet him and took photos with their mobile phones. "General Kung" walked around, greeting everyone, both officials and civilians, inquiring about their well-being and offering encouragement along the way into the evacuation center.

The people have been here for a full week now, and this is their second evacuation due to the clashes at the border. Officials at the evacuation center told the news team that there are quite a lot of people here, and the number is increasing every day, but the center is well-equipped to accommodate them and can handle people from the entire district.

Furthermore, residents in the shelter told the news team that on evacuation day, as soon as the village headman announced it, they rushed out immediately. They had already prepared their essential belongings because this was the second evacuation. They said the shelter is now more prepared, the management system is better, and there is entertainment from the military and government agencies on some days, which helps reduce stress for the people. They also want more visitors and activities to be organized frequently to bring laughter and applause, creating a more positive atmosphere. And they have something they want to tell the government as well.

Many essential consumer goods are now running low, such as toothpaste, soap, tissues, coffee, and Ovaltine. Anyone wishing to donate can walk in, or if that's not convenient, they can send them as a package to the address of the Sa Kaeo Provincial Administrative Organization, specifying "Refugee Shelter Center" in parentheses.

Regarding the fighting today, this morning, residents of Khok Sung District called to inform our news team that they could still hear intermittent clashes around 5:00 AM. Clashes are also continuing in Ban Khlong Phaeng, Ta Phraya, and Bueng Takuan. Currently, no permission has been granted for residents to enter the area.
