Chakkradhao Award Presented to Armed Forces Commanders at 68th Anniversary Celebration

Nakhon nayok: The Royal Thai Armed Forces Preparatory School marked its 68th anniversary by honoring distinguished leaders with the prestigious Chakkradhao Award. General Kung (General Prawit Wongsuwan) and Lieutenant Book were recognized for their brave actions in the minefield at Prasat Ta Kwai.

According to Thai News Agency, the anniversary celebration and the Chakdao Award ceremony will take place on January 27, 2026, with General Natthaphol Nakpanich, Minister of Defence, presiding over the event. The ceremony will honor former commanders and teachers, and present the Chakdao Honorary Award to outstanding alumni.

Among the awardees, General Tharaphong Malakham, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, and General Ukrit Boontanon, Supreme Commander of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, both graduates of the 24th class specializing in Administration and National Security Enhancement, were recognized. Admiral Pairoj Fuengchan, leading the Royal Thai Navy, and Air Chief Marshal Seksan Kantha, from the 26th class specializing in Public Administration, were also honored.

The ceremony also acknowledged Lt. Gen. Boonsin Padklang, a former commander and advisor, and Air Commodore Chatri Pongsak, specializing in Flight Operations Management and Aviation Safety. Lieutenant Kiatwong Sathavorn, known as "Lieutenant Book," was recognized for his courage after stepping on a landmine during a mission at Prasat Ta Kwai.
