Pattani: Thanathorn visited Pattani to meet with business owners and urged the public to "not be afraid of change, but be afraid of a present without a future."
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit, a campaign assistant for the People's Party, and Mr. Ramadon Panjor, a candidate for the People's Party's party-list MP, traveled to Pattani province to exchange views with business owners and campaign for the People's Party's candidates.
In the morning, Mr. Thanathorn held discussions with a group of entrepreneurs in Pattani province, including representatives from young entrepreneurs, the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Thai Industries, and local fishing associations. The purpose was to exchange views on the challenges and economic conditions in the area. Mr. Thanathorn presented a policy to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with a total budget of 250 billion baht. This budget will be divided into: 50 billion baht for SMEs to provide working capital; 100 billion baht for developing the business potential of medium-sized enterprises; and another 100 billion baht as working capital for real estate developers.
In addition, a "receipt lottery" policy was introduced, which would stimulate the economy for SMEs and help them access funding more easily, while simultaneously increasing tax flexibility.
Mr. Thanathorn also mentioned the People's Party's mega-projects, which will invest 627 billion baht over eight years to improve the quality of life for Thai people. The concept involves transforming problems into industries, creating jobs, and developing technology in the area. He also invited various sectors in Pattani province to collaborate after the election to further develop the province.
In the afternoon, Mr. Thanathorn traveled to give a speech in the Buting Kampongku community in Pattani Province, where he was overwhelmingly welcomed and encouraged by the local people.
During a speech, Thanathorn addressed rumors that if the People's Party came in first, it would be unable to form a government. He clarified that this election would not include any senators in the vote, and added that the fact that various factions, both from the government and other political parties, were surrounding the People's Party was due to their fear of change and their fear of demanding what should be normal in an abnormal society. He specifically mentioned vote buying, which is illegal and against religious principles, yet has become commonplace in society.
Mr. Thanathorn further stated that the three southern border provinces have faced security problems for over 22 years, spending more than 600 billion baht to resolve the issues. This demonstrates that Thailand does not lack the budget to create jobs and livelihoods for Thai people and the people in the southern border provinces. However, the current political system has created a system of political patronage linked to the economic system. Anyone who does not accept this system will not receive funding, which is abnormal. As a result, no one dares to express themselves politically and no one dares to speak out for their rights.
Therefore, if we want to change the future and prevent the country from remaining in this system, it is necessary to elect the People's Party and win overwhelmingly in order to lead Thailand out of the old political structure. This is what the opposition fears, which is why they try to slander and falsely accuse the People's Party.
Mr. Thanathorn concluded by saying, "Please help spread the word to those around you. Don't fear the changing future, but fear a present without a future. Because the future is in the hands of all citizens who will work together to build a better society to pass on to our children. And may these abnormalities end with our generation."
