Bangkok: The election and referendum voting site at Wat That Thong has become a focal point of activity, featuring seven polling stations where people continue to arrive to cast their votes. Governor Chatchart Sittipunt made an appearance at the polling station in Constituency 4, Phra Nakhon Nuea Subdistrict, Watthana District, using a motorcycle taxi to inspect voter arrangements.
According to Thai News Agency, Governor Chatchart remarked that the election process was proceeding smoothly across several locations he had inspected, with minimal traffic congestion. He noted that coordination with municipal officers helped manage traffic effectively at all polling stations. To assist elderly voters, wheelchairs were made available, and in anticipation of hot weather, umbrellas were provided for those in need. With the possibility of rain in the afternoon, the Governor encouraged citizens to exercise their voting rights, comparing the significance of this election to fastening the first button. Preparations were also in place for lighting and contingency plans for potential power outages during the evening vote counting period.
The Governor also announced that all schools under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration would remain closed for an additional day, as school staff were involved in election-related tasks such as rearranging desks and chairs back into classrooms. The polling stations at Wat Thathong School include 3 units in the temple parking lot and 4 units within Wat Thathong Secondary School, with approximately 4,900 eligible voters registered.
