According to Thai News Agency, a dashcam video captured a life-threatening incident, showing a 15-year-old male student in grade 9 riding his motorcycle to school. He failed to see a truck turning into a side street, forcing him to brake suddenly. The motorcycle spun out of control, and he slid under the truck, narrowly avoiding being crushed. The incident occurred this morning at 9:55 AM in Bang Chalong Subdistrict, Bang Phli District, Samut Prakan Province.
Later, rescue workers from the Ruam Katanyu Foundation were notified and dispatched a team to the scene. They found an injured person with abrasions all over their body, lying on the ground groaning in pain. It was suspected they had suffered a brain injury, as they couldn't remember the incident, not even their own room number. Rescue workers provided first aid before transporting them to Samut Prakan Hospital. At the scene, they also found the injured person's orange and black motorcycle overturned in the middle of the road with its front severely damaged. The other vehicle involved was a white 18-wheeler trailer truck driven by Mr. Montri, 42 years old.
According to the 18-wheeler truck driver, he was driving normally when he turned right into a side street at the scene. He said he didn't see the other vehicle coming straight at him at high speed. He also stated that he didn't know what happened when the collision occurred until someone collecting scrap pointed it out. He then looked in his rearview mirror and saw the victim lying in the middle of the road. He stopped his truck, got out to check on the situation, and waited to give his statement to the investigating officers at Bang Phli Police Station.
