Escalation in Middle East as Israel and Iran Target Oil Refineries

Tel aviv: Israel and Iran have intensified their conflict by targeting each other's oil refineries.

According to Thai News Agency, Israel, along with the United States, launched airstrikes on Iranian oil storage facilities and refineries in Tehran. This marks the first time these facilities in the Iranian capital have been targeted since the conflict began. The Israeli military stated that the attacks focused on infrastructure supporting the Iranian military. Fires erupted in various areas of Tehran, including its main oil refineries, with flames visible across the city. The strikes also hit oil depots in Alborz province, prompting Iran's national oil company to initiate emergency fuel stockpiling measures.

In retaliation, Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched missile strikes on the Haifa oil refinery in northern Israel and US bases in the Persian Gulf. Additionally, Iran carried out drone strikes in Kuwait and Bahrain. Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates intercepted some attacks, but debris from an intercepted drone struck a car in western Dubai, resulting in one fatality. This led Emirates Airlines to temporarily suspend flights to and from Dubai. Missile debris also caused minor damage to a building in the Dubai Marina area, though no injuries occurred.
