PTT Implements Strategic Measures to Ensure Energy Supply Amid Middle East Tensions

Bangkok: PTT Public Company Limited (PTT) has affirmed its strategic readiness to manage energy resources effectively to ensure a sufficient supply amidst ongoing Middle East tensions involving Iran, the United States, and Israel. The company and its group entities are actively monitoring the situation, systematically adjusting national energy management plans in alignment with government policies to guarantee adequate energy provision for Thailand's citizens and the economy.

According to Thai News Agency, PTT's international trading units are leveraging their global presence and expertise in the crude oil market to mitigate potential disruptions. By relocating product receiving ports outside the Strait of Hormuz and diversifying crude oil procurement from additional global sources such as Africa and the Americas, PTT ensures consistent crude oil supply. This strategy is crucial for maintaining the operation of PTT's refineries, which contribute over 60 percent of Thailand's production capacity.

In response to natural gas supply challenges, PTT is collaborating with producers in the Gulf of Thailand and Myanmar to maximize production capacity and delay scheduled maintenance. The company is also seeking additional spot LNG, as per the Energy Regulatory Commission's (ERC) directives, to address any shortfall in LNG supply.

PTT has intensified operations at gas stations and fuel depots, running seven days a week with fuel trucks undertaking extended transport schedules due to heightened demand. Sales at PTT Station service stations have surged by 2-3 times, occasionally leading to fuel shortages. PTT Oil and Retail Public Company Limited is actively coordinating efforts to manage and satisfy this increased demand.

The public is encouraged to conserve energy and avoid hoarding. PTT Station service stations remain committed to assisting the public comprehensively and continuously during this period.
